Apple and Cinnamon Jam


Ingredients

1 kg Apples, I used half Pink Lady and half Gala apples – use your choice of apple

200g sugar

1 small Cinnamon stick/ powder

1/4 tsp grated Nutmeg

1 Orange

1 Lemon


Method

Wash your jam bottles in boiling water and keep aside.


Peel and core your apples and dice them. Take a large saucepan and add the apples, then pour in the sugar, add the grated nutmeg, cinnamon. Add the zest of the Orange and squeeze in the juice of the lemon.


Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally until the mixture comes to a simmer. Reduce the heat to medium-low and allow the mixture to continue to slightly simmer for 30 minutes, until the apples are tender. If your apple chunks are too big mash up a bit.
