Ingredients
250 gm butter
250 gm sugar
250 gm self-raising flour
2 tsp baking powder
4 eggs
2 tsp milk
2 tsp vanilla
Method
Set oven to 190 °C. line a 9” round baking pan, I used a springfoam tin.
Sieve flour and baking powder three times and keep aside. Beat butter till white then add sugar and cream till smooth. Add an egg at a time, beat well and then add vanilla essence. Lower the speed on the mixer and then add in the sieved flour and baking powder. Add milk for dropping consistency and bake at 190 °C for 40 minutes. Leave in tin for 5 minutes before un-moulding.
