Marble cake is a cake with a streaked appearance (like marble)
achieved by very lightly blending light and dark batter. It can be a mixture
of vanilla and chocolate cake, in which case it is mainly vanilla, with
streaks of chocolate.
Ingredients
226 g flour
226 g sugar
226 g butter
226 g eggs (about 4 eggs)
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp vanilla
2 Tbsp Cocoa powder
Add a little milk for dropping consistency
Method
Heat the oven to 190 C. Line a pan with grease proof paper.
Sieve the flour and baking powder three times and leave aside till needed. Beat butter and sugar till it creams. Beat in one egg at a time into the butter mix. Add the vanilla essence. Fold in with the flour.
Into the pan, add vanilla butter cream in places leaving a gap in between. In to the remaining cake mix add in the cocoa powder mix lightly and fill in the gaps with the cocoa cake mix. Take a knife and mix through as shown in the first diagram.
Bake 40 minutes
