Dhal/Dal (Lentil) Rice

"Parippu bath"


Ingredients

2 cups Basmathi Rice

1 Cup red Lentil/dhal

1 tsp Turmeric

salt to taste or you can use a soup cube instead

a few Bay leaves if you have

1 inch stick cinnamon

3 cardamoms

a few Curry leaves

1 Pandan leaf

1 heaped tablespoon coconut milk powder

1 small blob of butter


Method

White rice is preferred, Keera samba can be used too. Wash the rice and dhal together, then add all the ingredients mentioned above. Place is a pan or rice cooker, add in the water the same way you cook rice. Et voila your superb fluffy rice is ready!!
