This is how my sister Ianthe Alles does it!!
Ingredients
2 cups Basmati Rice
1 tsp Turmeric
2 or 3 tsp Powdered coconut milk
salt to taste
water
*Microwave Rice cooker
Method
Wash the rice and put into rice cooker. Then add in the turmeric and coconut powder and salt and mix. Then add water to cover the rice which should be 1st line of your third finger when put into the water. Put microwave rice cooker in microwave and cook for 13 or 14 minutes. Leave to rest for 10 minutes in the microwave, then take out and use two chopsticks to fluff the rice.
Et Voila - you have a simple yellow rice.
Of course if you want to have a real yellow rice you have to add more ingredients!! Some use Chicken stock some use Coconut milk - Add Cardamons etc
