You could use Seer Fish or Para Fish for this - even pink salmon goes well...
Ingredients
2 Tbsp oil
1 tsp Dill seeds
1 Large Onion
2 green Chillies
1 sprig of curry leaves
1 tsp Salt and later to taste
1 tsp turmeric
1 tsp chili powder
3 cups Curd
1 cup water
For paste
Hand full of shallots or 1 onion
2 green chillies
6 ripe Tomatoes
1 Tbsp Dried Chili pieces
Method
Take a grinder or blender and put in shallots/onions, Green chillies, dried pieces of chili and cut tomatoes. Then blitz till it is a paste and keep aside till needed.
Put oil in a saucepan and when warm add the dill seeds, cut onions sliced green chillies and curry leaves. Once tempered nicely add the paste made with tomatoes.
To this add salt turmeric chili powder, mix nicely and then add the curd and water.
After stirring for some time add pieces of fish (which you have washed and prepared before) do not stir. Do not use a spoon but tilt the pot from side to side, if not the fish tends to break.
You don’t need to use lime juice or tamarind as the curd gives the sour flavour.
