Fried fish Sardinella or Salaya - in Sri Lanka


Ingredients

Raw fish (salaya) in English its called White Sardinella

Salt

saffron

Chili powder

A little flour

Lime

Oil for deep frying


Method

Cut and clean out the stomach. Wash the fish with squeezed lime, salt and a little saffron.

Drain and pat the fish dry with a paper towel.

In a bowl add a little flour, chili powder, salt and mix in the fish and deep fry and put on draining paper. Serve with lime wedges.
