Herb and Cheese Bread Balls in the shape of a Christmas Tree

Ingredients

3 sprigs of fresh Oregano, Rosemary and Parsley

500 gm of Flour

1.5 tsp salt

1 tablespoon of sugar

20 gm of Yeast

80 gm of butter

250 ml of Milk

200 gm of cheese or 2 packets of mozzarella mini cheese balls

1 Egg


Method

Cut the herbs and mix in a big bowl with the flour, salt and sugar. Add in the yeast and mix together. (keep a handful of herbs away) for later.

Cut the butter into pieces and add the milk and mix by hand or with the dough hook. Cover and leave to rise for 1 and a half hours.


Heat the oven to 200°C.

Cut the cheese to 30 pieces. then divide the dough in to 30 pieces, flatten out slightly and put a piece of cheese in the centre and made like a ball. Seal the bottom well so that the cheese does not leak out when baking. line a tray with a grease proof paper and place the balls in the shape of a Christmas tree. cover again and keep to rise for around 30 minutes. Beat an egg and rub on the bread balls. cook for around 20 minutes on the middle shelf of your oven. Take out an sprinkle the balance herbs. Serve warm if possible

to make in advance for 30 pieces.

prepare in advance, cook the tree a day before. take out let cool, wrap in cling foil and let it come to room temperature. put in a preheated oven at 200 °C for around 5 minutes before serving.
