How to make fondant flowers

Things needed

Coloured fondant

Rolling pin

toothpicks

flower wire

cutter or rose petal cutter

ball tool

sponges

paint brush

edible glue or water

corn flour

mat or board

for a fondant rose, you will need a round cutter or rose cutting moulds, pink or any colour fondant of your choice

You could also use a leaf petal silicon mould for the leaves as shown below.

Method

using the rolling pin roll out the fondant very thin, keep dusting cornflour so that the fondant does not stick onto your board or mat. then cut out 7 circles. place these in a plastic file sheet. Take a piece of fondant and make it into a cone shape to make a bud and put a toothpick into it. (these can me made ahead so that they are dry before pasting the petals) once you thin the petal, wrap the first one round the bud with water or glue and keep a little opening on the top. Then wrap the 2nd and 3rd petal round the bud. then for the bigger petals, after rolling it out thin take a toothpick and roll the two ends as shown in the sixth picture. Then place it on a sponge and turn the petal over and with the ball too press in the middle so that it gets a small curve. wet one end of the petal and paste it to the bud, then overlap with another petal and keep going around the rose. You can add any amount of petals.

if you want a bigger rose use a bigger cutter
