Place this mixture in a jar and use within 3 months
Just assemble your dry ingredients as well as the sugar.
Dry Ingredients
2 3/4 cup flour
1 3/4 cups SUPER fine sugar (you can buy this or make it)
2 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
Method
Sift together all ingredients and place in jar or your chosen storage container.
And voila! You have your own cake mix! (This recipe totalled about 4 1/2 cups of dry ingredients, so you can use an eight cup jar)
You will of course need to add the wet ingredients when you are ready to make your cake.
So write what you need to add on a little reminder card and wrap around the neck of your bottle/jar/container. Remember to write the date you made the mix!
And don’t forget the date! Probably try and use this within three months.
Wet ingredients
¾ cup unsalted butter
5 eggs whites
1 cup milk
2 tsp vanilla
½ tsp Almond extract
When Ready to Prepare Cake Batter
Place softened butter into stand mixer and cream the butter, place dry ingredients into stand mixer and combine with butter for 30 seconds. Then add Egg (whites) one at a time until mixed. Add milk, vanilla and almond extract and mix on medium-high for one minute.
Pour batter into prepared pans. Bake at 325-350°F. Fill two 8-inch round pans and bake for 20-30 minutes. Cool before frosting.
NB. This cake is great with fruits too
