Its Pouring! Beer Bottle Gravity Cake

Updated: Sep 30

Stuff Needed

6" x 3 round cakes

butter cream icing

chocolate butter cream icing

a round cake board 8" or 10"

empty beer bottle or can

a wooden pole and screw (you can find ready made cake stands for this in shops made with plastic)

Method

Made a Beer pouring Gravity cake with three layered all butter moist chocolate cake, sandwiched with chocolate butter cream icing with a touch of brandy. White foam pouring from Beer bottle is made with white butter cream icing, made for a 50th Birthday.

This is the base my husband made me to hold the cake. He took a round wooden board, Drilled into it to make a circle and then fixed a wooden pole which has a screw at the base inside the wooden board and at the top he fixed a small part of wooden pole to hold up the beer bottle or the beer can.

I placed a cake board at the base on top of the wooden board, this too a hole was made in to fit into the wooden pole.

I covered the wooden stick with cling foil, so that the cake or icing would not touch the wooden pole. I then made three tiers of 6 inch chocolate cake, sandwiched them with white butter cream icing and put the pole in from the topmost layer and slid it though the three cakes. The board was lifted up and my husband screwed in the nail at the base. I then covered the full chocolate cake with chocolate butter cream icing, and made white butter cream icing for the foam and made it pour down the stick and onto the cake with a big round tip nozzle. The Golden 50 and handle were made with light brown Fondant and covered with edible golden spray.
