Milk Toffee - Microwave -YES

Updated: Sep 8

Milk Toffee made in the microwave (make 16)

Ingredients

Half tin small size Condensed Milk (198.50 gm)

6 tablespoons sugar (use only 3 tablespoons instead of 6 for less sugar)

1 tablespoon butter

¼ cup chopped cashew nuts

¼ cup raisins

1 tsp Vanilla essence

NB:*Be careful it is very hot, best if you wear oven gloves.

My method – 6 minutes 50 seconds

Since I used half a tin Condensed Milk, and added much less sugar and then added ½Tablespoon butter and put these in a large tall microwave safe bowl or Pyrex jug mixed well first and microwaved for 3 minutes, then kept watching it in the microwave, each time it rose up in the dish I stopped the microwave, opened and stirred the mixture with a silicon spatula to avoid the spill over. Then after another 2 minutes, added the cashew, raisins, balance ½ tablespoon butter and vanilla stirred it and put in microwave for the last two minutes, of which I stopped it 10 seconds before time, took it out and nicely beat it with the spatula and poured onto a grease proof paper. I flattened it out with a butter paper. If you beat it for some time with your spatula it becomes soft. You can keep it to get harder if you like cooking it for the full 7 minutes.

NB: Microwave strength/power vary on each machine. Try to use lower power level if possible to prevent spills.)

Tried this and it came out well! Used less sugar as milkmaid is quite sweet but was easy and very quick to make.
