Number Cakes

Ingredients

double quantity chocolate cake

equipment

A large cake tin

stencils for numbers

Method

make a double quantity chocolate cake or any cake of your choice. Once it is cool slice it in the middle so that you have two layers.

Then keep the stencil on the cake and cut out the desired number or you can first cut out the number and slice it in the middle. I kept a cling film between the number so that it could be put into either the fridge or freezer. This is done so that you can ice it without having any crumbs falling off.

I am making a cake for a 12 years Anniversary Celebration. So I cut out number 1 and number 2 and slit them in half and wrapped in cling film and put in fridge.

Make a butter cream icing and fill an icing bag and use nozzle number 12 Wilton or 2A.

Lay the bottom layer on a cake board then ice small mounds from this round decorating nozzle. You could ice along the edge of the figure so that you have two rows of icing. Then place the other half of the same number on top.

Then ice some more mounds on the top layer, two or three rows each depending on the space you have on the cake. Now your cake is ready for decorating. Make some kisses, Get some small fresh strawberries. I also made some wafer paper leaves. You can even add macaroons or chocolate shapes you desire.
