Ingredients

for stewed apples
2 apples
5 tbsp of sugar
a knob of butter
about 4 tbsp water
fried toast
5 slices Stale bread
2 eggs
4 tbsp milk
4 tbsp sugar
1 tsp powdered cinnamon
1 tsp oil
a knob of butter
Method
Wash and cut apple with skin on into cubes.
Keep a pan on the fire and heat it, When it is warm add in sugar, and swirl to caramelize it to a light brown colour. Do not stir with a spoon as the caramel will stick to the spoon.

Then drop in the cubed apples and cover the apples with the caramel sauce. The caramel should be a bit thick. Add in a knob of butter and add some water and let it cook on a low fire, cover with the butter scotch.

to make the toast
In a bowl beat up the eggs and add milk and a little sugar and the cinnamon powder. The egg mix should be thick.

Then add in a slice of bread at a time into the egg mix, drain excess milk back into the bowl and put into the fry pan with oil/butter.
Bread soaked on other side fry in oil and butte load with apple/sauce
Put a fry pan on the stove and add in oil and a knob of butter so that it does not blacken. Once the oil/butter mix starts frothing add in the egg/milk soaked bread. add oil and butter into fry pan for each slice of bread.
Turn the bread on both sides (approx. a few seconds on each side) and when you get a nice golden colour take out the bread.
Serve on to each plate and pour the hot stewed apple on to it.
NB: This is similar to Bombay Toast, Pain perdu/French Toast and many other fruits can be made like this. combination of Pineapple and Banana, Pear and Apple and or passion fruit.
This bread can also be served with sugar and cinnamon powder, maple syrup
