Olive Pickle (Veralu achcharu)

Ingredients

Raw olives with seeds

tamarind paste

2 Tsp chili powder

1 Tsp pepper powder

1 Tsp salt

5 Tsp sugar


Method

Wash olives well and put into boiling water, when boiled drain and slightly mash with a spoon.

In a pan or chutty ( clay pot) mix well together the chili powder, pepper, 1 tsp salt and tamarind paste (add a little water)


mix nicely with a spoon and then add the sugar and mix again, now add a little water and stir, then add the olives and let the water bubble, till it coats the Olives and the gravy is thick.
