Sausage Rolls


Ingredients

1 puff pastry roll - rectangular 25x42 cm (shop bought or home made)

1 packet of hot dog or Viennese sausages

a little water

1 egg










Method

On oven to 220°C.

Whilst oven is warming up, take a baking tray and lay out a baking paper and lay out the sheet of puff pastry on it. Take out the sausages on to a plate and place one sausage on the pastry and roll over it till covered. Take a little water and stick the pastry together. Then cut it into a long roll. If the sausage is not long enough for the size of the pastry, take another sausage and cut it into 4 pieces and use one piece per roll. Then cut into 1 inch pieces.



Take an egg and beat it in a dish and brush egg wash on each sausage roll before baking.

Bake at 22°C for 15 to 20 minutes or till golden brown.



Take off the tray and keep to cool on a wire rack. If any pastry has broken open and you can see the sausage peeping at you, pop it straight into your mouth !! 😂
