Sponge Cake

Ingredients

4 eggs

1 cup flour

¾ cup sugar

2 oz butter

1 tsp vanilla

3 tablespoon milk

1 tsp baking powder


Jam or butter cream icing for filling


Method

Preheat oven to 350°F/180°C. Butter and line a 7" Spring foam round cake tins.

Melt butter and keep aside till needed. Beat eggs and sugar until it is light and fluffy. Fold in flour and baking powder (sieved 3 times) add milk, melted butter and vanilla. Fold in. Bake for 30 - 35 minutes


Sandwich together with jam or icing


I doubled this quantity and coloured one pink and the other green. Then sandwiched them together.
