Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp sugar
1 Tbsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
1 ¾ cups butter milk (420 ml)
2 large eggs
½ tsp vanilla extract
½ cup butter melted
needed:
a large bowl
a hand whisk
Waffle Iron - I used a double waffle iron
a little oil to brush on

Method
In a large mixing bowl, using a hand whisk, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Pour in the eggs, vanilla extract, melted butter and butter milk. *you can use a substitute to make butter milk if you don't have any at home. Stir well till combined.

Preheat the waffle iron and brush it with a bit of oil. Depending on your waffle iron the amount of batter required varies. My waffle iron took almost 1 cup each side as mine is a twin waffle iron. This turned into a nice thick waffle that is more like a Belgian waffle. use less batter if you want an American style waffle. With this recipe quantity I was able to make 8 Belgium Style waffles. You can use 1/2 cup batter for Belgian waffles and 1/3 cup batter for American waffles
Et Voila! Very tasty served hot hot with butter, syrup (maple or golden) Fresh berries, cream or Jam. (if you are more a savoury person eat it with any curry and sambal)
