Steamed Chocolate Cake – on stove top

Dry Ingredients

1 Cup Four 2 Tbsp Cocoa Powder 1 tsp Baking Powder ½ tsp Baking Soda ¾ cup Powdered Sugar Wet ingredients ¾ Cup Milk ¼ cup oil 1 Tsp Vinegar

Method

Mix the dry ingredients keep aside. Mix the wet ingredients and then add the dry ingredients.

Butter a baking tin or saucepan with lid cut a piece of oil paper to fit. Pour the batter into the tin.


In a big cooking pot place a wire stand (the microwave grill is good for this) and add 2 cups of hot boiling water, then place the cake on top and cover with lid or oil paper and tie around the dish, then cover the big cooking pot and keep the temperature on medium/low and steam for 25-30 minutes.


Test with toothpick and then turn over onto wooden board and cover with Ganache or Marshmallow frosting. See Easy Marshmallow Icing Recipe or Chocolate Ganache recipe
